Frying King Prawns Block Print

Inspired by everyday domestic tasks, this is how I imagine my Grandma used to cook in her tiny kitchen in Hong Kong. A favourite dish she used to cook for me were simple stir fried king prawns - fresh from the wet market. 

An original design, handcarved onto a single block and then handprinted by myself onto beautiful Awagami Kitakata washi paper. Awagami Kitakata paper is a pale cream colour with a luxurious sheen to it. I recommend a white or light coloured backing or mount to really show off the artwork as well as the paper.
